Kimono Rental Usage Guide

Sakura Kimono Kyoto, a professional kimono rental shop, offers over 400 kimonos ranging from children’s sizes to premium Furisode, and we propose the best-fitting kimono and accessories for our customers.
We will guide you through the overall flow of kimono rental, kimono hire, and kimono experience.

Kimono Rental Fees

Hair styling is free only for female customers. Makeup service is not available.

Kimono Rental Reservation Cancellation Policy

For kimono rental cancellations, we do not charge a No-Show penalty or cancellation fee, but please make sure to contact us. (A deposit is required for Photo Shoot plans. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable in case of unilateral cancellation.)

Kimono Return Time

Please return the kimono within the business hours of the day, regardless of the rental time. Additional fees will be charged for returns outside business hours.

Business Closing Time: 6:00 PM

Service Fee for Hours Outside Business Hours

If you wish to rent or return outside business hours, it is available for 1,000 JPY per person per hour.

Available Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Overnight Rental Plan (Yukata Only)

The overnight rental plan is available for Yukata only, and costs rental fee + 2,000 JPY per person. ID verification and a deposit of 10,000 JPY are required upon rental. The return time is by 12:00 PM the following day. If you wish to return after 12:00 PM, you can extend for 1,000 JPY per person per hour.

  1. Kimono Rental Reservation

    Select your kimono rental plan and make a reservation. Reservations are possible from 3 months prior to your desired date of use.
    Kimono rental is possible without a reservation, but if your travel itinerary is decided, we recommend visiting after making a reservation.

  2. Visit Sakura Kimono Kyoto

    Visit Sakura Kimono Kyoto at your reserved time. (If you need to change the time or cancel your reservation, please be sure to contact us.)

  3. Select Kimono or Yukata

    Choose your kimono or yukata and accessories in the shop. You can try them on before deciding.
    We will propose a full coordination that matches your desired style.

  4. Payment

    Make your payment at the shop.
    Credit cards are accepted.

  5. Kitsuke (Dressing), Hair Styling

    Kitsuke and hair styling will be done.
    Our dedicated stylist will beautifully prepare you from head to toe.

    Leave the shop and enjoy sightseeing to your heart’s content at Nara Park, Todaiji Temple, Osaka Castle, etc., and taking many beautiful photos will create special memories.
